Student Conduct Policy
Behavior Guidelines:
- Students are expected to respect other students and library staff.
- All school rules apply in the library.
- There is no food or drinks allowed in the library.
- Students must be engaged in a productive activity while in the library.
- Before students leave the library, they are expected to log off their computer, leave their space clean, push in their chairs, and return all materials to the areas that they found them.
- If the security system sounds when a student is exiting the library, he/she needs to come to the circulation desk. The TL will help to determine if the materials have been properly checked out.
Disruptive activity or behavior is not allowed.
During Class:
Progressive discipline will be used to deal with students who choose to be disruptive during class. If a student is unable to control his/her behavior, he/she will be given the opportunity to complete work in a more suitable environment, and the parent/guardian will be contacted.
During Break:
Library use during break times is a privilege, not a right. Anyone violating these policies may be asked to leave the library and refused future access. Parents may be contacted, and future access to the library may require a parent conference.
